Breast Lift Surgery Questions
What are the risks associated with breast lift surgery?
The risks associated with breast lift surgery can be minimized if the procedure is performed by an experienced plastic surgeon such as Dr. Lefkovits. However, even Dr. Lefkovits cannot entirely eliminate all of the risks associated with breast lift surgery. Like any surgery, unexpected complications or a reaction to the anesthesia may arise during the procedure. The area may also become infected following the procedure. Dr. Lefkovits will discuss these and other risks with you prior to your procedure so that you may make an informed decision.
How can I tell if I am a good candidate for breast lift surgery?
Breast lift surgery is the best option for women whose breasts are pendulous, lack firmness, or whose nipples and areolas that point down instead of straight forward. Typically, these women are self-conscious and less confident about the appearance of their breasts. If you can relate to this, you may be a strong candidate for breast lift surgery.
How long will I be out of work?
The recovery from breast lift surgery is very similar to breast augmentation surgery. Typically, the patients are tired and sore for a few days following their breast lift procedure. Although most breast lift patients are able to return to work within a week, we suggest you wait about a month before you resume any strenuous activity or exercise.
